UN Sustainable Development Goals Lesson Plans

We've seen how games can change classrooms and communities for the better, but can they really help all of humanity survive — and even thrive?

The United Nations has 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). These are must-reach targets for the year 2030, and have been crafted with the purpose of supporting continued comfortable human life on Earth.

At Epic, we've taken these goals to heart. We're providing lesson plans that you can use with Fortnite Creative to educate a new generation on the importance of sustainability across many aspects of life.

• Tackling Climate Change through LEGO® Fortnite® — From Take Action Global this is a separate lesson plan that uses LEGO Fortnite to show students how to take action for climate change with mitigation and adaptation. It follows a different format from the other lesson plans included below.
• Re:Imagine Urban Design — This lesson plan aims to help students understand and design sustainable, walkable cities that align with Sustainable Development Goal 11 (SDG 11).
• Safe Grad Summit — A lesson plan where students prototype solutions that seek to halve the number of deaths and injuries due to traffic accidents.
• LEGO Fortnite - Inclusive Islands SDG Lesson Plan — A United Nations Sustainable Development lesson plan that focuses on Goal #10 — Reduce Inequality Within and Among Countries.
• Tackling Climate Change through LEGO Fortnite — Explore your LEGO Fortnite world, eat in sustainable ways and build a climate-resilient house. It's all about mitigation and adaptation!
• Building a Sustainable Village in Lego Fortnite  — A Hot and Dry Climate Challenge - In this lesson,   you will create a Survival Village in a scarce world where every resource counts. The village featured in the lesson was designed with sustainability in mind, focusing on how architecture can adapt to hot and dry climates.
